ACE NY Consultant on NYISO Capacity Market and Public Policy Transmission

Raj Addepalli is an independent consultant with significant experience in the utility regulatory arena in New York. He worked for the NY PSC for over 31 years, including the last three years as the Managing Director of Utility Rates and Services, managing all regulated electric, gas, steam, water utility rates and service issues, and in an advisory capacity to decision makers. He led a staff of over 200 professional employees.

He was involved in energy policy making, clean energy development, evaluation of utility rate filings, wholesale and retail competition issues.

Presently he is an independent consultant working with several entities such as Deloitte, Inc., Tetra Tech and RTI, assisting utility regulatory commission clients around the world (Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and Pacific Islands) on electric utility regulation issues. He is also currently representing the Alliance for Clean Energy New York at the NYISO on capacity market and public policy transmission issues. He is an adjunct faculty member at Clarkson University teaching courses in the Business of Energy graduate engineering program.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Masters’ degrees in Business Administration and Economics, and a Ph.D. in Management; and he is also a ‘Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)’.
